So, Just what the blithering hell is going on in Shikari land at the moment? Well…
We've almost finished demoing for the new album. Next job is practicing and embellishing what we've got ready to properly record it all in the studio next month! After recording the first few tracks (including our forthcoming single) in central London we sniffed about for other studios in slightly less busy hustley bustley areas to record the rest of it. We've managed to discover a great studio in Thailand and have decided to do a good deal of the tracking out there which we're absolutely buzzing about.
The forthcoming single is all mastered now and sounding BIG! We're filming a video for it soon. We're also editing a live DVD to release this summer with all sorts of juicy footage from around the world on it. So all pretty busy at the moment!
Touring wise, we're starting to formulate a plan for a UK and EU and Russian tour later this year and honestly cant wait to reach out to you all once again! At the moment the shows that have a permanent and definitive silhouette on our touring horizon are Rory C's birthday bonanza in Amsterdam. The serious slog that is Warped Tour, that we're half dreading, half dying with excitement about!
And of course Shikari are back at Reading & Leeds where we hope to smash the world record for crowd surfers again just like in 2009!

Niceeeee :D can't wait to see you at Leeds fest again. Oh, and I'll officially have no money on the 23rd of April thanks to you :D well worth it though, your Step Up stuff looks amazing!

Woo! I'm looking forward to Warped Tour. Recording in Thailand sounds dangerous. Stay away from those shady districts lads =p I hope this DVD is released to the US unlike Tribalism.

You have no idea how happy I am right now, knowing there'll be a new album this year.
How on earth did you locate a good studio in Thailand of all places….? xD
Very excited. Quelle Surprise, from what I can hear in the video, is a bloooooody good song. c;
And finally, a year and a bit overdue, STEP UP HQ!! I still remember, when the site said "coming February 2010", I used to check it every day to see if had appeared yet ^^

I'm going to Thailand next month too. While the odds of ES playing a gig to test out new material in a bar I happen to be in aren't great, a girl can always dream, right?
I also thought I was going to look like a sex tourist with my travel plans as Thailand in May and Amsterdam in June. But at least I'm not the only one.

About the 17-28th May, I'm coming across the border from Laos into northern Thailand, then flying home from Bangkok so will be covering a lot of the country. I've got no set plans for where I'll be at the moment, but if possible I'll definitely take you up on the offer to come say hello.
